Execution:

People.com will, on occassion, allow an advertiser to run a high impact overlay on the homepage. To protect the user experience on the site the following guidelines must be adhered to.

Execution:

As a People.com user navigates from page-to-page, the Transitional ad unit serves between pages as a full page ad. This full page ad will then timeout after a specified duration before revealing the people.com website. This unit is built and served by Mediamind. As such, People.com will work with Mediamind to build this unit for our advertisers.

Execution:

As a People.com user navigates from page-to-page, the Video Transitional ad unit serves between pages as a full page ad. This full page ad will then timeout after a specified duration before revealing the People.com website. People.com will work with Pointroll to build this unit for our advertisers from the assets listed below.

Execution:

The People.com Photo Gallery Interstitial is a Premium Rich Media Ad format which is designed to deliver an Advertisement as users navigate past the 5th photo in a gallery. Upon selecting the Next button an OverThePage ad takes over the photo gallery viewer. Upon selecting the More Photos button, the user will be redirected to the next photo in the gallery. This unit can be third party served and requires a 5 day turnaround time for testing and positioning.

    Execution:

    The Pushdown is a premium People.com homepage and mainpage ad unit that automatically expands downward pushing the site content down with it, expanding creative opportunities and capturing audience attention. The Pushdown unit then auto collapses into a persistent ad on the page which can be expanded by our users for additional information and functionality. This OPA unit is 970x66 in its collapsed state and 970x418 expanded. This unit can be third party served and requires a 5 day turnaround time for testing and positioning.

    People.com Specifications: Super Pushdown Execution:

    The Super Pushdown is a premium People.com homepage and mainpage ad unit that automatically expands downward pushing the site content down with it, expanding creative opportunities and capturing audience attention. The Super Pushdown unit then auto collapses into a persistent ad on the page which can be expanded by our users for additional information and functionality. This OPA unit is 994x250 in its collapsed state and 994x418 expanded. This unit can be third party served and requires a 5 day turnaround time for testing and positioning.

    People.com Specifications: HD Video Zoom Click to view demo Execution:

    The HD Video Zoom serves on the People.com homepage as part of a roadblock. A 994x250 is displayed under the navigation bar and the gutter colors are updated to match the advertiser's branding. On page load, the unit automatically expands to reveal a 1280x720 video and collapses after 8 seconds. The unit can also click to rexpand for a long form video. This unit is built and served by Pointroll. As such, People.com will work with Pointroll to build this unit for our advertisers from the assets listed below.

    Execution:

    The Homepage Drawbridge gives the illusion that the People homepage screen is falling like a drawbridge. The 300x250 space serves as a window to the content beneath the homepage. The drawbridge reveals a large takeover giving an advertiser the opportunity to showcase products or video. This unit is built and served by Mediamind. As such, People.com will work with Mediamind to build this unit for our advertisers from the assets listed below.

    Execution:

    The People.com Homepage Mural unit is served as part of a Homepage roadblock. The 300x250 launches multiple flash panels that reveal a full page takeover giving the appearance that the editorial pieces of the page are being transformed. Within the space an advertiser can run a video if they would like. The unit is host initiated and resolves back into the 300x250. The animation is limited to 8 seconds and is capped at once per user per day. This unit is served by Mediamind. Please send assets built to the specifications below.

    The People.com Homepage H Unit unit is served to either side of our content within the People.com page "gutters" in tandem with a 994x165 flash banner that runs along the bottom of the navigation bar. The combination of the two pieces allows an advertiser to utilize all pieces for messaging and branding. This unit is served by Pointroll. Please send assets built to the specifications below.

    The Photo Curtain unit is served above the slideshow area on photo gallery pages as part of a sponsorship. A 994x30 collapsed panel appears below the navigation and expands over the gallery on rollover. This unit is served by Pointroll. As such, People.com will work with the vendor to add in functionality to assets sent to the specification below:

    Site Skin Execution:

    The People.com Site Skin ad unit is served to either side of our content within the People.com page "gutters." This unit is available on the People.com homepage and TV Watch pages. The site skin is served by Mediamind. Please send assets built to the specifications shown and download the design template below for additional instructions. All layers can be added to this template, saved and sent back to adopspeople@timeinc.com.

    Design Best Practices:

    The flash gutters, whether static or animated, should include the advertiser logo.

    Background images should be uncomplicated textures that are continuous tone or simple color blocks to optimize the image quality for the available image file size. Flat color and simple two-tone gradients work best.

    To create a seamless experience between the clickable banners and background image, we suggest making the banners transparent and include all messaging, logos, complex imagery and call to actions within the flash gutters.

    Avoid busy textures and white or yellow background colors at the top of the background image, as there are editorial links (including the site logo) that are surfaced atop the skin that cannot be obscured. People.com edit reserves the right to ask for design adjustments in the event that editorial links and logo are not legible.

    iPad Touch Up Execution:

    The People.com Touch Up ad unit is designed specifically for the iPad. A collapsed banner sits at the bottom of the screen and allows a user to swipe the unit open to a fullscreen takeover. The fullscreen creative can be used to showcase an advertiser's video or image content as well as pulling in feeds from social media, etc. The Touch Up is served by Pointroll. Please send the below assets to to adopspeople@timeinc.com and the People team will work with Pointroll to build out this custom unit.
